Anik Palace Hotel. Emerging luxury in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh recalls its colonial luxury with emerging brand, Anik Hotels. John Savage gets embedded.

Tourism took a mammoth hit around the world during COVID-19, and no popular destination was more affected than Cambodia which has suffered more disasters than most.

GM Sin Samney: Building the brand
The Cambodian hospitality industry is rebuilding on all levels to entice more sustained visitation.

At the top rating Anik Palace Hotel, rated #2 (two) on TripAdvisor as Best Value Hotel in Phnom Penh and #9 (nine) on Trip. Best 4-Star select hotels in Phnom Penh by Trip.com

Cluster General Manager, Sin Samney (Sam) is extending the signature property which is one of three to appeal to a wider range of guests “Guest numbers are slowly rising.” He said. “Cambodia is like a boxer; we keep on bouncing back.”

Anik Palace Hotel is a 4-star luxury and classic hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with 5-star service. It has the appearance of a castle. All guest rooms and public areas are designed with a European classical theme inside and out. The exterior reflects the history of Cambodia – dating back to the year 1863 when Cambodia was ruled by the French.

The property continues to be a popular choice for Australians visiting Phnom Penh. Located in a sought-after area with easy access to the Victoria Monument, the Esplanade, the King’s Palace and the Ton Le Sap River, the Anik Palace is a superb property at a realistic price in the heart of Phnom Penh with an obvious caring duty to the environment. The group is currently building a connection to the next-door property which was constructed with the same element as the Anik Palace. It will be accessed by a huge archway from the current hotel providing a combination of more than 200 rooms and is scheduled to open later in 2024. It will feature an authentic ground floor Khmer restaurant open to guests and the public. The spa, conference room and sky bar will be extended to cater for up to 160 guests.

Anik Palace Hotel is the third property to be opened by the Anik Hotels Group. All three properties are nestled in the heart of Phnom Penh. First to be launched was Anik Boutique Hotel Rainbow Bridge followed by Anik Boutique Hotel and Spa Norodom Blvd and lastly the Anik Palace. “Management has resolved to increase awareness of the unique brand of properties to become a leading Cambodian Hotel Group and successfully operate the hotels with local talent,” Sam said. “Extensions to the signature property will appeal to a wider range of guests.”

The Anik Palace was named by the owner in recognition of his love and respect for his wife. Anik is his wife’s nickname which means “humbleness and kindness”.
